About Rebecca

Hello! I am a passionate teacher who loves children and have worked with children since the fourth grade! Teaching is my gift, so it comes naturally and children are attracted to me like magnets. After recently working in a charter middle school for seven years with special needs students, my specialty is striving to understand how a child thinks, so that I can best help him/her understand any material. My philosophy about learning is that it is best done while being active; for example, for reading tutoring, I have used hopscotch, jump roping, and trips to the library. My experience has taught me that learning is enhanced through physical coordination, pattern recognition, rhythm and repetition in fun ways (i. e. writing in sand). Bilingual (English/Spanish) & Former U. S. Army Signal Corps Captain in (Information & Communication Systems). BA's in Spanish & German. AS's in Child Development/Preschool Children & Master Teacher and Child Development Site Supervisor.
