We loved Renae up front and she was wonderful with our son. However, over time, we noticed she became less attentive and was not fulfilling agreed upon duties. She then began to have frequent call outs. We initially understood because things come up and she was generally good about letting us know ahead of time. She was very flexible with our schedule as well so we didn't want to lose her as our nanny. However, she reached out to us to say she needed a procedure and would be out "for the next week" which was told to us on a Tuesday. I had thought she meant the next week coming so I didn't realize she meant she wasn't coming the next morning. I asked for clarification and received no answer. She contacted us the next day (8/17) to say she had a followup on 8/24 and would let us know then. After that, we never heard from her again. No calls, texts, not even an email. Our son was having surgery 9/9 and she bailed on us during a very stressful time. So shameful.
