About Renate

I was born and raised in Germany where I graduated college with a degree in Early Childhood Education. My husband's job as a stained glass artist brought our family to the United States. Since 1991 I have been working in early childhood programs in Fort Myers and San Diego. First as a 2-year-old teacher and then as a director of national accredited programs. I hold a California teaching degree as well as a Florida Director's Credential. I took some extra college classes in infant-toddler development to stay on top of my education. In 2021, after two hard years managing an early childhood program through the pandemic, I decided to retire early. We traveled through Europe for a while and when we came back, we bought a house in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains. After 3 years I now realize how much I miss being with the children. Creating a nurturing environment that will foster a child's curiosity and independent thinking has always been one of my most important cornerstones.
