Having to feed them based on their likes and needs, taking them outside to parks, on walks, or potty, as well as playing, cuddling, and training. Something about working with children and animals is genuinely rewarding and relaxing, even though sometimes it may not seem like it, for me it is. I'm looking to adopt a dog myself within the next few months after we settle in from moving.
