Hi Parents!! I have daycare and teaching experience from during undergrad when I worked at The Learning Experience. I have taken care of and raised my 4 younger siblings, nephews, and other kids in the community since the age of 14. I have a lot of experience with newborns / infants and especially love taking care of babies! Currently I am a law student and live in Brooklyn with limited availability but I can be flexible! I'm generally available Thursday through Sunday and in the morning or late nights on the other days! In my spare time, I like to cook, bake, and spend time with friends and family! I am very patient, compassionate, playful, and engaging. I believe in, and try to practice, positive reinforcement with my nephews! Im an expert on all things Blippi and paw patrol!!

We’ve been fortunate to have Shahirah as part of our family’s life since our oldest was born! I can’t say enough about how wonderful she’s been with all three of our children, now 6, 3, and 1. She’s incredibly patient and caring, always treating our kids with love and attention. What really stands out is how considerate she is, she helps with little things around the house without even being asked, which is so thoughtful. She’s engaging with our kids and they absolutely adore her and is the only one who can get our 6 year to actually do his homework and clean his room! I would absolutely recommend her to any family looking for a trustworthy, loving babysitter.
