About Shakyra

Hello Families! My name is Shakyra. Over the years, I have gained lots of experience working with children with a range of many different jobs. I spent my highschool years as a Youth Advocate where I determined fair and appropriate sanctions for youthful teen offenders who committed low-level offenses. After graduating I went on to be a Nanny for two different families within a span of 5 years where I cared for the children from infants to toddlers. As a nanny I implemented engaging and developmentally appropriate learning experiences/ activities daily for the children amongst other duties. Later, I became an Assistant Teacher for about a year working with children ages 4/5 implementing DOE curriculum. Lastly, and mostly recently I tutored 1st and 2nd graders virtually helping improve literacy skills. I obtained my Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education and I plan to continue my education.
