About Shantell

I am 29 years old, I have had a few PCA jobs in my lifetime. I get great joy out of helping others. Most recently, I cared for a 76-year-old man named Jeff who had a spinal injury and extremely limited mobility, as well as a catheter, pic line, and numerous other ailments. I lived in the home, and got paid for 20 hours of care. I helped with sponge baths, toileting, medication management, and general care. I cooked meals and baked desserts, and once a week I would assist his wife in transporting him in his wheelchair to the casino for some outside fun. I also helped with dog walking, and errand running. Jeff and I still communicate to this day, my mother had been his PCA for over 8 years. I have also cared for a 48-year-old man named Anthony who had a stroke resulting in the loss of use of his right side ligaments. I helped him in the mornings by getting him showered and dressed each day, feeding him breakfast, giving medications, housekeeping, and other various errands.
