About Stephanie

My name is Stephanie F. and I am an elementary school educator, looking to tutor and/or babysit for a family through the 2021-22 academic year. I specialize in working with students with unique academic and social needs. I spent the past 4 years teaching 1st and 2nd grade math, reading, writing, and social studies. I am a fully certified teacher with experience teaching students with specialized learning needs, including those with autism spectrum disorders. I have experience planning and instructing targeted ELA and math intervention for students below grade-level, including phonics and counting instruction. I have also worked with many advanced students, pushing them beyond the grade-level curriculum to achieve their full potential. I have training and experience in guiding social learning, helping children develop and build social skills such as thinking about the perspectives of others, managing conflict, and matching their response to the size of the problem.
