My specialties are in the English language arts, or in art itself, like visual arts and photography. The English language classes I've taught in the last two years have been one 8th grade English at Hilltop Middle School with an ELD class, and the next year, AP English at Serra High. During a typical year I work at various assignments in subjects in middle and high-school classes. But now it's not in person. Now, if we want to be safe, we're stuck with virtual . We're only now finding its deficiencies. However, I see hope. Just do the math. Normally a teacher deals with at least 35 students per period, usually an hour. (not a block schedule day). It's less than 2 minutes per student, This all changes when the educational experience is one-on-one. You get a customized lesson to fit your needs. In the 60 minutes of one of my sessions we can get several days work done.
