All my life, I've been told I possess wisdom beyond my years, a quality I attribute to my mom, a dedicated home health aide. Growing up, I spent summers at her clients' homes, learning compassion and empathy. In 2020, my mom faced a dilemma: while dedicated to one client, another family needed urgent help with their father, Dolph, who had dementia. My mom couldn't leave her client, so she asked if I could assist. I agreed, and Dolph and I quickly bonded. Over three years, I ensured he had the best quality of life, communicating in ways that transcended words. As his condition worsened, I helped with daily tasks and provided comfort. Being with Dolph until his peaceful end revealed my true patience and purpose. This experience taught me the importance of empathy and connection in caregiving. Inspired by my mom and my time with Dolph, I am committed to making a difference in others' lives, guided by the profound lessons I've learned.
