About Vanessa

I have been a registered nurse for many years. My initial employment was working at Newton Medical Center on a medical floor. In that capacity I cared for elderly patients that had various medical conditions. I assisted them with all aspects of their care including all activities of daily living. I went on the do home health nursing for two years where all of my patients were the elderly. I delivered such services as wound care, medication management and delivery, education on disease processes, admissions to home health services, and assessments of current stability. I also worked at Emory University Hospital for a short period of time on the transplant floor caring for patients who had received or were awaiting liver or kidney transplants. My most recent employment was being a Tuberculosis Public Health Nurse. In that capacity I case managed the care of active and latent TB patients by delivering medication and doing medical assessments.
