No matter where you look at this magical time of year, you'll see a twinkle in the night, inspiring hope and joy. Our objective this week is to capture the essence of that glimmering shine in our art! With a limited palette and a focus on values students will mimic the flicker of light while practicing their blending techniques.

Join us as we dive into this colorful mandarin fish painting! Students will learn all about chiaroscuro and the use of contrast to create intensity in their art. In addition, they will utilize pattern and negative space as they bring their creation to life.

The Kids' Digital Art class at The Atelier School of Art is a one-hour session designed for ages 8 and up, introducing young artists to the world of digital drawing and painting using iPads and Procreate. Students learn the fundamentals of layering, brush techniques, color theory, and composition, while exploring their creativity through fun and engaging projects. This class helps build technical skills and confidence in digital art, preparing students for more advanced techniques in the future.

Spring Semester (Mid March-May) Exercise the imagination at the ART House. This class is designed for preschool children aged 4 and 5 to introduce them to art and proper classroom behavior. Expanding on concepts of form and composition, we will implement pattern and line to create variety with a single color.

This week we’re traveling to the seaside for this glorious landscape painting. With a focus on color and texture, students will discover various ways to imply depth in their art. Studying the characteristics of foreground and background, we will challenge their color mixing skills as they learn about atmospheric perspective.

Get ready to stomp back in time, dig into the past, and create art that’s dino-mite! Campers will embark on an adventure to create their own prehistoric world, where T-Rexes roam and volcanoes erupt with creativity. It’s going to be a roar-some week filled with dino-size fun!

Advanced Art Open Studio Thursdays, 4:30 – 6:30 PM This open studio class is designed for advanced art students who are ready to take creative control. Over several sessions, students will choose their own mediums and develop independent projects with the guidance of an experienced instructor. Whether working in drawing, painting, mixed media, or sculpture, students are encouraged to explore personal themes, experiment with materials, and refine their artistic voice.
