This class is for families with children getting ready for preschool, looking for socialization and a longer more structured class. During this class we will come together for morning circle, creative activity, free play and neighborhood exploration. The morning will end with a closing circle.

Mega Impromptu: Think Fast, Speak Smart Grades 2–5 March 30 – April 3 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM Reston, VA! At our Mega Impromptu Spring Break Camp, students participate in daily on-the-spot speaking games, creative challenges, and partner activities designed to help them quickly organize their thoughts and express ideas with confidence. Through energetic lessons and interactive practice rounds, students learn how to: • Organize their thoughts quickly • Speak up confidently in different situations • Manage nervousness using simple techniques • Keep their audience engaged and interested Every day includes fun speaking games, breakout challenges, and supportive coaching so students can practice in a safe and encouraging environment. With 2–3 instructors and intentionally small classes, every child receives individualized coaching, real-time feedback, and multiple opportunities to practice speaking. This high level of support helps students grow quickly and ensures meaningful improvement throughout the week! Now that your child has increased his or her language skills, experienced high/low, has marched to the steady beat, and has the rhythm all inside, let's apply those concepts directly to the piano! We will learn the scale, listen to famous composers and famous piano pieces, make music with sound stories, learn musical terms, strengthen our fingers, work on proper posture and hand position, learn quarter notes and half notes, and letters C,D,E all before private music lessons begin! Melody Makers is a solid foundation for piano or private music instruction! Plus, everything is better with new friends! Classes are 1 hour long each week. Alice is so excited to offer classes this Spring at We Rock the Spectrum! 💕 On March 17, there will be a SPECIAL one with Miss Alice’s good friend Miss Laura Grisham! Laura is an incredible folk musician with years of early childhood experience. She is so excited to get to help Miss Alice by teaching this wonderful class! 💕 Music with Alice, a 30-40 minute family music class, welcomes babies, toddlers and preschoolers along with their parents, grandparents and caregivers to come together every week to sing together! These special classes will include an hour of gym time at We Rock the Spectrum (built in to the price of each class.) *Siblings under 1 years of age are free! Please just let me know you are bringing them! * **Babies under 1 that come alone MUST register.** ***WRTS gym members can request a code to deduct the cost of the open gym.*** These classes are highly engaging to all ages, as Alice teaches everyone finger play activities, hand movements, lap songs, call and response singing and a big jam at the end with shakers and kids instruments.* (*Participants are encouraged to bring their own instruments to class) Each class is full of music from the folk tradition that are so simple with lyrics and movements easy enough for both baby, toddler, and adult to learn. Come explore our playscape equipment, for some unguided play time with lots of fun and music. All members are invited to 1 Open Play per week but must enroll online. What to expect in class: Children are given free range to explore the playscape equipment, with their adults within a hug’s reach. Their movements are coordinated and purposeful as we practice matching lyrics to choreographed movements and explore instrumental and improvisational play.

Northern VA / DMV Area! We are back with the Ultimate IN-PERSON Communication Intensive for High School Students at our awesome Highest Speak Center in Reston, VA! Camp runs from 1:30–4:30 PM — perfect for high schoolers who like sleeping in during the summer! High school is when communication skills truly start to matter. Students are expected to participate in class discussions, present projects, interview for internships and leadership roles, collaborate in groups, and soon interview for college and jobs. Yet most students are rarely taught how to organize their ideas clearly, write strong arguments, and present them confidently! That’s exactly what this program focuses on. In this high-energy, 5-day program (3 hours per day) students will build powerful communication skills while having a TON of fun through engaging speaking challenges, interactive activities, and real-world scenarios. Students will practice both writing and presenting, learning how to develop ideas quickly and communicate them clearly in front of others.
