About Emma

Hello! My name is Emma and I am currently a senior Anthropology major at James Madison University with a 3. 8 GPA, and I graduated Summa Cum Laude from John Tyler Community College in the spring of 2020 and received my A. S in General Studies. I was homeschooled and grew up tutoring younger students in my homeschool group in Math, English, and Science. In college I occasionally tutored elementary, high school, and community college students in the same subjects. I have experience working with children with special needs such as autism and dyslexia. My goal in tutoring is to use an experimental approach using different methods to see what the student best responds to. I try to incorporate fun activities in the tutoring process to keep students engaged and to help them feel encouraged and motivated to learn.
