As a reading teacher, I use a structured literacy approach that is supported by research evidence. This approach includes explicit, systematic, and sequential instruction of phonemes, letter-sound relationships, and syllable patterns. I ensure that cumulative practice is implemented, decodable texts are used, and prompt corrective feedback is given. I am offering virtual reading tutoring sessions. I encourage one to three tutoring sessions per week to help maximize growth. Each session can range from 45 to 60 minutes long. I prefer to use Zoom as the online platform, but I can also use G Meet.
