About Patrick

I'd describe my personality as thoughtful, positive, encouraging. I like tutoring because I have always been at heart, a teacher and a coach, even when it was not my career. In my spare time, I like to work with wood, read, experiment in the kitchen, and spend time with my family. I have a blended family of my wife and five children. Each is unique in their talents and their challenges. Raising them has given me a strong sense of adaptability when it comes to my students. My skills include 1. Listening to students, crucial to assessing each student's level of competency & finding the best place to start. 2. Simplifying concepts through visual & storytelling examples, very useful to aid students building a framework of understanding. 3. Applying the concepts of mathematics to the real world. I may not be able to guarantee a particular field will be of any general use, but I do help all students understand math is present in all facets of life and work.
