About Shannon

Hello! I am a NYS certified ELA teacher for grades 7-12, but I have experience with students ranging from K-12! I am also a freelance writer/editor with a small client base, and am privy to the college application process. I can provide tutoring lessons in all subjects involving literacy; reading/writing/speaking/listening. I have taught Drama classes, and I can provide tutoring lessons for students taking Spanish as a foreign language class. I'd describe my personality as friendly, encouraging, and fun-loving. I like tutoring because there is nothing quite like the brightness in a student's eyes when they finally comprehend something. In my spare time, I volunteer at my local animal shelter as a canine companion. One thing you should know about me is I am a musician! I love to play guitar, piano, and sing, and often this spills over into my lesson-planning.
